Tignes is linked to Val d’Isere to form the Espace Killy, which is named after the famous French skier Jean Claude Killy who was a native of Val d’Isere. You can download a Tignes and Val d’Isere ski map / piste map here, there are over 300km of pistes and 156 runs in this vast ski area.

Tignes is a fantastic ski resort for skiers of all levels with 23 green runs and 66 blue runs. For intermediates and expert skiers there 40 red runs and 27 black.

For beginners there is the Lavachet in Tignes Le Lac, perfect for those first turns and then head on up to the "Ski Tranquille" area at the top of the Fresse chair. This is a perfect area to progress and gain confidence.

For intermediates the blue and red runs are abundant, you can basically explore the whole of the Espace Killy discovering new places to ski every day.

For experts there is La Face black run going down into Val d'Isere and for those looking for off piste there is the whole Manchet area which is accessable from both the Tignes and Val d'Isere ski lifts. Care should be taken in spring if you're approaching the area from the Cugnai chair in Val d'Isere as its south facing and often slides in the spring sunshine. We recommend that you take a Mountain Guide and get the most out of exploring the area safely with an expert.

Famous for its freeride skiing Tignes has a number of High Mountain Guide Bureaus and Ski Schools that can take you to explore the huge backcountry away from the beaten track. Tignes also has the Swatch Snowpark with a range of easy to professional jumps so everyone can have a go at freestyle skiing.
